I have always wanted to
become a big game guide out west. Having no horse or
elk hunting experience, I was very reluctant attending
a guide school. After visiting several guide schools,
I chose Bliss Creek. That was the best decision I have
ever made. Tim is the best teacher I have ever seen.
He takes the time to teach you everything you need to
know to become a first class guide. We packed more miles
than any other school by far. Having never hunted elk
before I know I can now call in an elk for any client
an outfitter gives me.

This is
the best school ever. I have been around horses all my
life, but never mules. Tim knows more about horses and
mules than anyone I know. He takes his time to teach
his horses what the need. He does the same with his students.
I was the only student that had horse experience. The
other students had no problem with Tim's animals. They
allowed the students to make mistakes and stay safe.
Tim has more patience than anyone I have ever seen. He
also knows more about elk hunting than anyone I know.
With Tim's teaching every student was calling elk by
the first couple of days. I am looking forward to working
for an outfitter because I know tim has taught me everything
I need to know. I will always remember my time at Bliss
Creek.

What a
great school. Tim, I appreciate the extra time you took
with students to make sure we learned everything. You
are a class act and show that you really care for your
students. I learned more than I ever thought I could.
I also appreciate all the time you took to talk to me
and answer all my questions before I arrived. You called
me back on the phone more times than I can remember.
Guide school was a big decision for me and I see that
I made the right decision.

Great
school. Having hunted elk for many years I thought I
knew everything I needed to know to guide and about elk
hunting. Boy was I wrong. After completing the school,
now I do. Tim took his time and showed me how much more
there was to learn. His horses and mules are the best.
They will stand for hours and hours as we would learn
the different hitches in order to pack. I am very confident
that I can guide a hunter to an elk tomorrow.

This school
is not easy. It is not a vacation it is a top notch guide
school. If you do not learn everything you need to guide
hunters in the western US, it is your fault. Tim taught
us everything we needed to know and more. If a student
had problems he would work with them one one one until
they learned the lesson. This also included Tim working
after hours with students. Best thing I have ever done
in my life. Thanks Tim

When you
sign up for a school one thousand miles from home to
never know what you are going to get. I got a lot more
than what was advertised. Everything and more was covered
in the school. I was amazed how much we all learned in
just 4 weeks. Tim is an excellent horseman and teacher.
He knows more about elk hunting and packing than most
people forgot.

It was a very inspirational
school. Everything was covered in great detail. Tim did
an amazing job relaying the information to us. There
is no way a person can learn to become a guide from a
book or video. The school is set up well where it really
shows people what this line of work is all about. Tim
did a great job. I feel so confident going to work for
an outfitter right now doing anything.

I'm so happy I chose to
come to Bliss Creek and learn so much so fast from such
a great teacher. I also enjoyed working with Tim's animals
and how comfortable I felt with each one because the
stock at Bliss Creek are the best trained and worked
animals. I have ever been around. Tim is a fair person
with a lot of patience. He will also go back and review
anything he teaches if needed. I would recommend this
school to anyone that is serious in becoming a guide
or outfitter. But, this is not a school for those that
are not 100% interested in becoming a top notch guide
with horses or mules or just want a vacation.

Bliss
Creek Guide School was well worth the time and money
I put into it. I learned more about packing and guiding
in a month than I think I could have any where
else. We all learned a lot through practice, hard work
and Tim's patience. And I had some fun and made a few
friends in the meantime. Thanks, Tim, for the endless
hours of work you put in to make guide school happen
for us!

I feel
your school was very educational and I think I spent
my money well. The subjects covered will be helpful to
me in the future. If a student receives nothing else
out of this school than the experience, then it's still
worth it. But I highly doubt that when a person leaves
this school they will not know enough to be hired by
an outfitter and have them be confident in them.
Tim you
are the best teacher I have ever come across. You definitely
know what your doing and you don't hold anything back
when asked a question. You take more pride in what you
do in one day, than most men do in a lifetime. You are
one of the best horsemen I've ever met and the most knowledgeable
guide I know. You're a perfectionist. Tim you have given
me a chance to find myself. I'm honored & feel privileged
to have been one of your students. THANK-YOU TIM you'll
be remembered by me until my dying days.

I think
this was the best investment I've made yet. Tim was nothing
but professional all the time. The instruction was great
including the guest speakers. It really helped me decide
what I'd like to do. A few people told me I was wasting
my money, but I don't think I could of learned and experienced
what I have any other place. It was Definitely the best
school I've ever attended. Thanks for taking me.

I feel that this school
was very educational for me. I would have never thought
I would learn so much in such a short amount of time.
I didn't know what to think about this school for the
first couple of weeks, but as time went on, things really
began to click for me and after yesterdays 12 mile practice
pack trip, I realized that every thing Tim taught us
was for a reason and yesterday proved that. We all did
an amazing job, helping each other out. When it was all
said and done, I can honestly say that I've never had
so much pride for myself than what Tim has done for me.
Thanks again for all the hard lessons learned and for
your patience. This school is truly a top notch stepping
stone for anyone that wants to be the best they can be,
because it is truly taught by the best.

This school to me is in my heart the greatest accomplishment I have ever
done. To me it is the best school, I don't even have a second thought about
another school. I classify you "Tim Doud" a very fair, patient
man and one hell of a teacher. You are Top Notch. If there is a better person
or teacher I would have to see it to believe it. The school was that and
more than I expected. I have learned more than I could ever have imagined.
I am proud to be a student of Bliss Creek Outfitters.

I feel
that I couldn't have picked a better school. I learned
a lot from the hands-on, book work & the general
experience of everything. Being here with Tim makes you
feel right at home while getting a good education in
the lifelong dream you are about to pursue.

Bliss
Creek Outfitters School I think is the best school I
could have gone to. Your very concerned about doing a
top job in all aspects of the school. Your very interested
in teaching the things one must learn in this profession.
You don't just want your students money. You want to
teach people what you know, and that's a lot. Tim your
very patient and you will take the time to cover everything
that students are wondering about and having problems
with.

I think
this school is a very good learning experience. I have
learned a lot about the horses and packing. Tim is a
class act. He takes the time to help people and takes
pride in his work. He is in my opinion a top notch person
and also a top notch outfitter. I would recommend him
very highly to anyone that would like to attend his school.

I think
that going to this school was one of the best things
I've ever done. Tim is an excellent teacher as well as
a fantastic person. His patient, courtesy and willingness
to help you if you need it. He covers material thoroughly
and doesn't move on until you got it. I learned so much
from Tim at Bliss Creek Outfitters All the success I
hope to enjoy in the future, I owe to both of them. Bliss
Creek Outfitters Guide School is really #1 for those
who want to learn.

I would
bet a months pay that there are no other schools more
qualified to teach the outfitting business than Tim of
Bliss Creek Outfitters. The care that goes into their
stock, equipment\, tack, and all the gear that makes
a business run says it all. The #1 thing you learn here
is care for the animals first then you can worry about
yourself. I would recommend this school over anyone's,
hands down. Bliss Creek has been an experience of a lifetime.

I learned
exactly what I came here to learn. I'm leaving with the
confidence to perform the skills required of a guide
and maybe someday an outfitter.
Tim does an excellent job of teaching guide skills and makes sure you know
these skills when you leave the school. My main fear was the school ending
up being a way for the outfitter to get his camp set-up and have lots of
free help, there was absolutely none of that. Anyone who goes to this school
can leave as a very capable guide or wrangler.
Terence
Poirier - Fir Mountain, Sask., Canada - 2001 Bliss Creek

The school
was very informative and covered a lot of topics in a
short period of time. If there was any problems along
the way Tim made sure we understood it before he carried
on. I feel that after I went through the school that
an outfitter could assign me to a task and I could handle
it in a suitable and five weeks ago I had no clue what
to do. Great school, a must for any person would want
to pursue a career as a guide or outfitter. Could not
have asked for a better place to go and learn on how
to be a professional.
