Bliss Creek Outfitters is proud to offer yet another new program - Personalized Cook School. By popular demand, our personalized cook school is designed to qualify students for work as a professional camp or ranch cook - plus give you the skills to be even more beneficial to your potential employer by learning packing and basic horsemanship.

It is a private, hands-on school which allows students to begin cooking on day-one. In addition to learning to prepare food, plan a grocery list, pack food in panniers, food storage, clean up, wilderness food handling, bear proofing, you will also learn the skills needed to fill in as a wrangler or camp jack if necessary. This makes you a valuable addition to any wilderness camp. The price of our Personalized Camp Cook school is $6,200 per student for the four-week school. That is $1,525 per week.

Held in beautiful Cody, Wyoming, the East entrance to Yellowstone National Park, the advantage of personalized training is that we cover everything in the group class, and more; Desserts, Dutch-oven Cooking, packing, basic horsemanship, and so on. Classes will be held at either Bliss Creek Ranch or in the Washakie Wilderness Camp of Bliss Creek Outfitters.

There is great demand for good camp cooks. Many outfitters search for months to find a camp cook that knows the kitchen, can prepare the menu and run the kitchen without supervision. You would be even more valuable to your potential employer by having the skills to pack and saddle a horse.

Our school is only for those men and women who are VERY serious about becoming a professional camp or ranch cook. This is a very demanding school. We turn out only the best camp and ranch cooks.
