Bowhunters

"During the past 30 years I've had the pleasure to meet and hunt with many of this country's top bowhunting guides. To me, Tim Doud certainly ranks as one of the best. He not only knows bowhunters and bowhunting, he knows his way around the woods and how to get good results by putting his hunter within good arrow range of the animals they're after. I'd hunt with Tim again - anytime, anyplace."

GUIDE & PACKER SCHOOL

Over the years, we have continued to see an increase in demand for qualified guides and packers. Bliss Creek Outfitters Guide and Packer School is contacted on a regular basis by outfitters looking for qualified graduates.

Due to the increasing demand for qualified guides and packers, Bliss Creek Outfitters is now offering TWO CLASSES EACH YEAR.

Held in beautiful Cody, Wyoming, the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, each class is four (4) weeks in length. The first class will be held in April each year. The second class will be held in June/July each year. Both classes will cover the same lessons, but with slightly different "classrooms".

The first two weeks of each school will be held at the Ranch-Camp, covering the basics of horsemanship, packing and guiding. The last two weeks of each school will be held in different settings.

The April class will not pack into our Wilderness camp because of high snow levels in the high-country. Instead, during week three and four we will take day trips into the Wilderness from our Ranch-Camp. The April class will cover more guiding and packing.

The June/July class will pack-in 22 miles to our Wilderness camp in Bliss Creek Meadows and learn more about pulling a pack string and setting up a wilderness camp.

To ensure that each student will get the best training possible, classes are limited to 10 students each. We are VA approved.

A 50% deposit is required to enroll. Please call for tuition fees.

CAMP-COOK SCHOOL

Our Professional Camp Cook School is also offered in May and July/August. Our school is designed to qualify students for work as a professional camp or ranch cook. Students will be hands-on, cooking from day one. While in school, students will gain all the tools necessary to cook for large groups in a camp or ranch setting. Meal planning, food preparation, grocery list planning, dutch-oven cooking, cooking at elevation, cooking for large groups, bear proofing and clean up are just a few of the topics we will cover.

Classes will be held at either Bliss Creek Ranch in Cody, WY or in the Wilderness camp of Bliss Creek Outfitters. We offer a two-week school or a four-week school. We are very flexible as to the time of year we offer this school.

The two-week school will cover the essentials of camp or ranch cooking. The four-week school will cover essentials of camp or ranch cooking, PLUS packing food on horses and mules, riding horses and mules, pulling a pack-string and tools needed to be an even more valuable asset to your camp or ranch.

Please call for tuition rates. We are VA approved.
