Bliss Creek Group Cook School is designed to qualify students for work as a professional camp or ranch cook. We offer a hands-on school with a maximum of four students which allows you to begin cooking on day-one. Students will gain the tools necessary to cook for large or small groups in a camp setting, as well as learn to plan meals, prepare food, plan a grocery list, pack food in panniers, food storage, clean up, wilderness food handling, bear proofing and much more. Held in beautiful Cody, Wyoming, the East entrance to Yellowstone National Park, we offer a four-week school with real-life instruction. Classes will be held at either Bliss Creek Ranch or in the Washakie Wilderness Camp of Bliss Creek Outfitters. Your instructor will teach you the skills necessary to become a cook in a hunting camp, summer pack-in camp or at a ranch operation. The curriculum will be as follows: Menu & Preparation Packing 1. Many outfitters search for months to find a camp cook that knows the kitchen, can prepare the menu and run the kitchen without supervision. Our school is only for those men and women who are VERY serious about becoming a professional camp or ranch cook. This is a very demanding school. We turn out only the best camp and ranch cooks.
